ABOUT NISSIMOU
1. What is Nissimou and what is your mission?
Nissimou, which means “My Island in Greek”, is the First Inclusive Therapy Centre for Children & Families on Spetses.
We are providing access to essential therapies for children 2-12 years old, supporting families, and building an inclusive community on the island of Spetses. You can visit our WHAT WE DO page to learn more.
2. Is Nissimou a registered nonprofit organization?
Yes. Nissimou is a registered non-profit organisation in Greece, operating under the legal form of NISSIMOU AMKE (Non Profit Civil Law Company).

I AM A PARENT
1. Who can benefit from the NISSIMOU services?
Our services are provided by Greek and English speaking independent therapists. They are available during the school year, from September to June, for all Spetses residents or visitors, or families and children living in the Argo-saronic region. Therapists are available for children 2-12 years old.
2. How can I apply for therapies or request an evaluation?
We encourage all parents to start by visiting our ABOUT PAGE and reach out directly to the therapist they wish to contact, by email. The therapists will provide you with an answer shortly and establish direct contact with you.
3. Does my child need to have a diagnosis to benefit from the therapies?
No. A formal diagnosis is not required for your child to benefit from therapies. The therapists at Nissimou focus on supporting each child’s individual needs and can begin therapy based on an initial assessment.
4. What is the cost of the therapies and the payment process?
Therapists are independent and certified and they fix their own rates. Parents are paying the therapies directly to the independent and certified therapists of Nissimou. Therapists and all registered independents and provide invoices and receipts that parents can then use to benefit from social security refunds. Nissimou is not taking any payments from parents for therapies.

1. I would like to make a donation, how can I proceed?
All the help we get is useful in order to make our non-profit grow! We thank you in advance for considering making a donation to NISSIMOU and we are pleased to accept different types of donations:

Financial
If you are an individual who wishes to make a financial donation you can use our bank details and make a transfer. We will provide you with a receipt by email that you can then use for tax discounts (depending on your country’s terms and conditions).
For companies and larger organisations, you can contact our colleague Mrs. Juliette Tassy : team.nissimou@gmail.com who is responsible for the non-profit’s fundraising.

Equipment
If you wish to give your learning material, equipment, games, furniture or toys a second life, we will be happy to provide them with a new home!

2. How are donations used?
All donations are used to help NISSIMOU grow. Here is an overview of our main expenses:

Maintenance of the centre: utility bills, maintenance and repairs, rent

Purchase of equipment, furnitures for the centre, or learning material

Sponsoring weekly trips and accommodation of our speech and language therapist and the occupational therapist to the island.
I AM A TEACHER, THERAPIST OR WORK IN THE EDUCATION FIELD
1. I am a teacher or independent therapist, how can I collaborate with Nissimou?
At Nissimou we are more than happy to collaborate with teachers, therapists or independent specialists from Greece or abroad, who share our vision and approach and want to contribute to our mission. Here are different ways that you can work with us:

Volunteering at Nissimou (social media, photography, fundraising, maintenance of the centre, volunteering workshops…)

Using the space at Nissimou and renting it to organise your workshops or seminars

Renting a space at Nissimou for a specific period (summer or school year)

Working on a shared project

Creating a digital campaign

2. What documents do I need in order to collaborate with Nissimou?
In order to collaborate with Nissimou, a few documents are requested:
