What is MAKATON and how can it help your child?

MAKATON is a programme that promotes the development of communication and language by combining signs, symbols, and spoken language.

What does the seminar offer to parents?

The seminar is designed for parents who wish to effectively support their children in everyday communication.

By participating, you will:

• learn about the MAKATON programme and its philosophy,

• be trained in the basic signs and symbols,

• gain practical techniques for proper use at home,

• strengthen communication with your child in a simple, clear, and functional way.

At the end of the seminar, you will receive:

• notes for personal study

• digital educational material

The programme is ideal for parents of children with communication and/or language difficulties and offers a valuable tool for daily interaction with their child.

The seminar will be conducted by certified speech and language therapists, who will guide you throughout the session and answer all your questions.

The seminar language is Greek; however, MAKATON is a form of sign-supported communication that combines signs and images with spoken language. This means that anyone can learn it, regardless of the language they speak: Albanian, French, English, Russian…
