#OurSpecialStory Digital Campaign

What does inclusion mean for “special families” in Greece?

This campaign* is created by two non-profit organisations, HOUSE HUB in Athens and NISSIMOU on Spetses Island, as part of their project #HouseHubProjectSpetses.

Together, we believe that mothers and families that raise children with neurodiverse needs in Greece play more than the role of parenting in their everyday lives. In addition to being a mom or a dad, in addition to their jobs, which they often have to leave to take care of their child, they become caregivers. “Caregiving Parents” are the ones who experience firsthand the issues connected to inclusion, or rather, the lack of inclusive practices, in Greece.

Through this digital campaign, launching in November 2025, our vision is to give a voice to special families, create a unique platform for them to share their stories, and this way, continue to raise awareness about inclusion.

How to participate?

For all mothers, fathers, or families and caregivers interested in giving their testimonial, please email us: hello.hhps@gmail.com from NOVEMBER 1st 2025 to November 30th 2025.

We are interviewing mothers or families about inclusion matters and how they experience it in different situations: within the family, in the community, at school.

What do they know about inclusion laws in Greece, and how they see the future of inclusion for themselves and their children?

These testimonials and stories will be shared on social media: Facebook and Instagram, on a monthly basis.

Stay tuned!

The first story will be on air on December 1st!

*This campaign is inspired by a workshop that was held in April 2025 in Spetses under the program “Inclusion for every child” and was held by the Community Trust Spetses and the Municipality of Spetses, and collaboration with Dr. Elena Soukakou, Paichnidagogio, and the NGO’s HouseHub and NISSIMOU in Spetses.
